Valentine’s Padel Tournament in Bali – A Social Sports Event in Uluwatu

A different way to celebrate Valentine’s Day in Bali

On February 14th, The Ground Padel Club in Uluwatu hosted a special Valentine’s Padel Tournament, bringing together players, couples and friends for an afternoon of sport and social connection.

Rather than a traditional dinner date, participants chose to spend the day on court, sharing games, meeting new players and enjoying a relaxed competitive atmosphere in one of Bali’s growing sports communities.

The event gathered 12 teams and 24 players in a mixed doubles format, open to multiple skill levels.

Mixed doubles & multiple categories

To make the tournament accessible to everyone, players could either register as an existing team or join individually and be paired on site.
This format allowed newcomers and regular players to mix naturally, one of the reasons social padel is becoming increasingly popular in Bali.

The competition was divided into categories:

  • Bronze / Silver (1 PM – 3 PM)

  • Silver / Gold+ (3 PM – 5 PM)

The goal wasn’t only performance, but participation. Matches stayed competitive while keeping a friendly and welcoming spirit typical of the Uluwatu community.

Community partners

The event was supported by local partners who are part of the lifestyle around the club:

  • Waves of Clay

  • Atmos

  • Tabu

Their presence helped create an atmosphere beyond sport, combining play, social interaction and the Uluwatu lifestyle.

More than a tournament

The Valentine’s Tournament reflects what social sports represent in Bali today:
not only competition, but connection.

With players coming from different countries and levels, the afternoon naturally turned into a social gathering, something that defines padel culture on the island.
